Cost: £20 per hour plus the cost of any mulch used

Things to note:

For mulch, I can add compost or decorative bark to the flower beds after weeding to help suppress weeds coming back. We actually need quite a bit of bark, but it does look great.

  • I don’t use any chemical weed killer because of the effect it has on soil health (plus human and animal health!)
  • It can be extremely difficult if not impossible to prevent weeds eventually coming back, but by getting as much of the root out as possible, and then either putting nark down or bringing in new plants, we can certainly manage them.
  • Please note that I don’t take the waste away, so it would be great if you had a “green waste” bin.
  • I have long gloves for stinging nettles!
